Kinder Cookie Bars

Kinder chocolate is up there with one of the best creations known to man (I love it so much I requested my 21st birthday cake to be a Kinder one). I fancied baking something that wasn't too tricky and contained the chocolate. I headed over to the mother of all baking blogs that is Jane's Patisserie (check out her blog here). She creates an array of amazing bakes, including her cookie bars. I did a little scrolling and stumbled upon the Kinder Bueno Cookie Bars *sharp inhale*.

They are possibly the most delicious cookies I've tasted and what makes them even better is they were so easy to make! You get the perfect mix of gooey and crispy from the Kinder bueno. You should get about 16 bars out of the mixture. So that you can enjoy them as much as I did, here's the recipe...

What You'll Need:

  • 275g Plain Flour
  • 1tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Cornflour
  • 115g Unsalted Butter
  • 55g Caster Sugar
  • 135g Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 250g Kinder Chocolate (chopped)
  • 170g-250g Kinder Bueno (chopped)

What To Do:

  1. Preheat oven 190C/170C fan and line 9x9" square tin with parchment paper
  2. Combine flour, bicarb of soda, salt and cornflour in a bowl and set aside
  3. Melt butter and pour into another bowl. Add both of the sugars and beat.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined
  5. Add in the dry ingredients and mix well until a thick dough is formed.
  6. Fold in the Kinder Chocolate and Bueno and mix (you may wish to add the chocolate in stages to make it easier to fold in). Save some Kinder Chocolate for the top of the bars
  7. Press the mixture into the prepared tin and top with the remaining chocolate
  8. Bake them in the oven for 17-22 minutes (the length of time you choose to bake them will depend on how gooey you want them)
  9. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, cut into squares and place on a wire rack to cool
  10. Now you can devour them!
